    Some directories have very high PR and can provide good backlinks......remember Yahoo is a directory.....some can also send some traffic....

    Several years ago, tons of traffic cam from directories......a little harder now....but worth the effort....

    I don't think that directory submission is the wastes of time. But you should submit your sites in good PR and dofollow web directories for desirable results.

    Definitely get directory links. I have some websites that rank #1 on Google and have mostly Web Directory links.

    Make sure you use your keyword phrase as the anchor text.

    You will also get some traffic from the links.

    Yeah i think it is very helpful. Just like what they've said. Choose a quality Directory to submit. Though directory submissions will take too long to accept your site to their directory but i think it worth also.

    just go for the best directories ie good pr and good alexa ...and submit your site into them..but focus on one think that your link after approval should be do follow link...otherwise there is not benefit to u.....

    Free directory submissions are a no-brainer. Yes, do them. You can hire any one of dozens of services that'll do it for $50 or so. Or if you're new & don't have cash flow, spend the 3-4 hours it takes (using roboform) to submit to a few hundred of them.

    True, most of them are crap, but who cares? They're still links, and it's usually the first thing we do on any new site. It's a once-and-done deal.

    It's better to submit your site to 100 quality and high PR directories rather than going for 1000, 2000 submissions. Go through their submission guidelines and submit. That will increase your site's approval in those directories.
