Google Webmaster tools problem - backlinks

Hi people..
I am having problem with all of my backlinks in google webmaster tools showing an incorrect default page.
All of my backlinks except 2 are showing up as pointing to wwwdotevolvecounsellingdotcom/index.html
2 months ago, I changed my site from its original index.htlm to index.php (as I now have wordpress). My site has a sitemap
but when I go to the original sites that link back to me, the links only show wwwdotevolvecounsellingdotcom.
Somehow webmaster tools thinks they are pointing to index.html, and as a consequence all of my backlinks except two show as crawl errors.
I have posted support to googles forums.. but received no replies. My webhosting support believes its a google problem. Does anyone have any ideas.. I am lost.
Yahoo site explorer picks up the backlinks correctly... so this also makes me think there is a problem with google.
