    You left out a very important factor for on-page optimization...and that is "RELEVANCE". Each page should have relevant content pertaining to your keyword/s.

    Also, you stated "get a few internal links". May I add that "INTERNAL LINKING" is crucial. I would actually say "use many internal links but make sure you dont use the same anchor texts throught the site".
