If I were you, I would focus on how you can get real people to your site, and how you can make sure a percentage of those people have a reason to stay as well as come back and visit again. Get that part right and it beat any seo plan any day.

I am not judged by the number of times I fail, but by the number of times I succeed. And the number of times I succeed Is in direct proportion to the number of times I can fail and keep trying.

I Go Hard = "Slanguage" for putting forth a lot of effort.

Don't be an arse and try to flip something you clearly have no knowledge of against me.

There is another tool that Mark Ling created called "Traffic Travis" (www.traffictravis.com). I use it all the time because it is quite versatile and can give you a lot of information if you know how to use it right. SEO analysis is just one of the many tools you can use. And it tells you what you're doing wrong with SEO which can be a big help if you've forgotten something or mispelled something.

And it is free so you can't beat it.

    Cheers,

    -Tom

Big vote for Traffic Travis. I run all my pages through the SEO checker, especially when I'm using a new theme. It seems to do a really thorough job, and it's easy to use. And like the previous poster said, Free! Can't beat that.

You need a real human being with experience to take a deep look into your optimizations..no tool can ever replace that...sounds quick and efficient but SEO is still a lot of manual work..

You hire a programmer to have a good, objective look. And make sure you hire one who knows what they are doing. My forum is on SMF, if anyone's site is an SMF forum I could refer you to the man for the job. But he's booked till July.

The steps you should take are as follows...

Step #1. Read Google's Search Engine Optimization Starter Guide found at: http://static.googleusercontent.com/...rter-guide.pdf

Step #2. Take the Free SEO Book: Read SEO Fast Start by Dan Thies It's also free and will help you learn SEO on a fast pace.

Step #3. Decide on which SEO Tools you will use in your endeavors. Everyone's temperament, educational acumen and patience level is different, so a tool that IMer #a may love, you might not like. For example, I bought SEO Elite but didn't like it. You, however may love it.

NOTE: never allow a person's like or dislike to influence your decision. Unless of course, the software in question receives a myriad of negative reviews from sources you trust. That being said, a number of applications have already been mentioned. I'll add to that list...

      * SeoQuake - seo toolbar, plugin, seo extension for Mozilla Firefox
      * SEO for Firefox Extension: Free SEO Toolbar Firefox Browser Plugin
      * SearchStatus | Firefox SEO Toolbar Extension
** Traffic Getting SEO Plugin free wp plugins
** WordPress › All in One SEO Pack WordPress Plugins
Keyword Analysis Tool - Market Samurai
Free SEO Software | The Best PPC & SEO Management Tool -Traffic Travis (already mentioned)

*These are crucial Firefox SEO Addons
**These are crucial WordPress SEO Plugins

Step #5. Treat all of your SEO Tools the same way a pilot treats his instrument panel and you will master SEO. Also, don't tinker with any of these tools; learn to master them and you will... master SEO.

Step #6. Don't listen to individuals who imply and/or assert that you are so unintelligent that you or anyone else cannot learn and master SEO. If you want to succeed in this business, you better learn SEO on page and SEO off page

Actually, SEO is part of the plan you described, not separate from it.

Since when is working with a keyboard, mouse and a monitor/LCD Screen become manual labor? Enlighten please... and do we need to brace ourselves because you're going to deliver some stuff so DEEP we mere mortals will never know, learn or figure out?

WOW! We've now come to the point were only programmers can perform SEO? Can you please specify what type of programmer?

      CSS
      HTML
      PHP
      ASP
      Assembly
      Basic
      C
      C#
      C++
      Delphi
      Flash
      Java
      JavaScript
      Pascal
      Perl
      Python
      Ruby
      Visual Basic

Or, is there now a SEO Programmer? And if so were do they get their college degrees?
