Adsense... Why do you fail me...

I can't for the life of me figure out why Adsense is showing Nascar ads on my blog.

NASCAR??

It used to consistently show ads relevant to "make money online", which is essentially what my blog is about... correct me if I'm wrong, but I've never written about race cars in my personal blog.

What the F?

Anyone have ideas why this would be happening?

    "soapbox" racing.

Change some tag titles and add some relevant anchored text linking to the pages that adsense is getting it wrong, should help.

One trick that I learnt off a friend of mine was toc see what keywords G thinks your website is about..

      You do the following :

Go to the Google keyword tool, and type in the URL of your website into the site search box and hit the submit button.

It will return a heap of words that it thinks your site is about.

Many times people are absolutely amazed at what G comes back with..

This is one of the main reason that shopping carts never rank well in the search engines.
The SE's think the site is about "paying", shipping", weight, credit cards etc. becuase every post contains those words..

Its worth checking out, what G thinks of your site and if its wrong, then its time to change the words on your page..

      Hope this helps

Is that possible because Nascar is bidding for the keyword "make money online" in adwords?

Sometimes adsense shows different ads not related to the theme of the blog but after sometime its back on track so dont worry your blogs related theme Ads will be shown.

That is because you set your adsense account to like "customers interest". You should see that in your adsense account.

So I guess you did google about NASCAR in some point.

Google knew that, thus, it shows in your website even though it is not relevant.

I did try to turn this thing off but it decreases my CTR. BUT... it is really depends on market to market.

Try using competitive ad filter in your AdSense account and filter out Nascar ad.
