Is it better to have a website on local server?

Hi,

I found a lot of contradicting opinions on the subject and can't clear it out.

If I'm targeting British market, is it better to host my site on the server in the UK or it doesn' matter?


Can anyone help me with this one?

    Funny thing you asked that - because I'm thinking of doing the same thing and target more UK clients (reasons: pound is stronger than the dollar and I can climb the SERPs faster than here in the states (that's still in a testing phase though)).

    I'm going to go to a hosting company in the UK. Right now - I'm using GoDaddy - and they are ok.

    However, I would like to hear what other ppl are doing as well...
