I was wondering if putting these type words below the Adsense block goes against the Adsense TOS in any way?

    In that context I would say yes, as its clear you are trying to influence the ads being served. Why not make it the heading/title for a small text body on the subject?

    Adsense is touchy with this. They always want it to be clear that you have ads and don't want to influence someone to click on them, it has to be out of their own free will.

    I'd say you are on the borderline and if you are comfortable with possibly losing the account I wouldn't worry about it, but if it really matters to you and you would be losing a significant amount of income by losing the account you should probably not add it and think of another way.
