17 Days For Google To Index My Site

Hey Everybody,

I've heard some people complaining that Google takes forever and a day to start indexing their site.

I posted my blog up on March 12. I started getting spidered on the 14th.

I submitted my site via the Google Webmaster tools on the 20th. I posted up 6 full-length articles by the 23rd.

Today, the 29th, Google indexes me.

I have no idea whether this made a difference or not, but last night I submitted my site on Pingler, and today I'm indexed (finally)!

Bottom Line: Google webmaster tools isn't enough. It seems like you've got to actually get your site out there for Google to even give a crap.

That's an incredibly long time. I find that using pingomatic.com along with submitting an article to GoArticles.com gets me indexed in 12 hours or so, usually.

New site is indexed pretty easy on Google. But difficult to stay that way. Google crawls all but indexes only few pages.

Google webmaster tools are very useful to get indexed. Submitting a sitemap is very usefdul.

      Ok Guys

Just let you my experience, and just to prove that you don't need 99% of all the trickery being promoted by the so called "seo gurus"

I just finished building a brand new html (static) site - sorry; not going to reveal the niche or the site just yet. It's not a IM site or related to making money on-line.

Competing pages for my keywords avaraged 500,000 sites. (not too bad).

Site was 12 pages in total + sitemap, and was submitted to google (via webmaster tools) on 22nd March 2010.

      Site had NO backlinks.

Site was indexed and listed by Google within 4 days. Site is ranked #1 to #3 for my chosen keywords.

Let's just say I'm very happy. Next steps will be to build backlinks to the site, and maybe some article marketing .....fingers crossed it stays where it is for a while

I have found that the fastest way to get indexed is to simply buy a link on a site in your niche that has a high page rank and point it to your home page.

I have found that I can get most sites & pages indexed pretty fast and because of the link, you can actually get a quick ranking as well.

Just make sure you have a good anchor text in the link so you can take advantage of that aspect.

i have never heard/seen it confirmed that Google webmaster tools "guarantees" or triggers indexing. This is a myth!

You need good backlinks, a DIGG and maybe a tweet on twitter usually do it for me.

        I definitely agree.

It doesn't even have to be a controversial post. If you can't find anything valuable to add to a controversial post. Just make a new post...and ask a question that you've been meaing to. Of course make sure its not some **** post, and make sure you've got a backlink in your sig. I usually make my backlink like a . or something. As soon as I'm sure that Google has had enough time to see the link, I remove the .

This always works like a charm for me. I've had stuff indexed real quick...like 4 or 5 hours before.

The reason why your site got indexed was because you pinged it. I.E. you finally let the search engines know that it existed.

I can get a site indexed in less than an hour.

    Here is how:

Ping at pingomatic.com then go to digg.com and submit it. Done.

If i want to make 100% sure that's it's indexed super quick. Then I also may add a video on youtube with a link back to my site. But thats not normally needed.

Indexing in hours, Human traffic in that same day. I'd say that's the average now for your typical IM who knows what they are doing.

There's just so many ways to get links its not even worth going into.
