One Page Website Google Pagerank 4 - How?

Any ideas on how a very simple one page Wordpress site with two posts gets a Google Page Rank of 4, see. How To Win Her Back - Win Her Back With Dirty Psychological Tricks. The site was registered in Nov 2007 and the last significant changes occurred in 2008. Yahoo Site Explorer shows 19 pages and 8 inbound links from three sources. Even the About page is the bog standard Wordpress text. Surely if we could all copy this technique we could walk Google?

I have spend thousands of $ and hours trying to find this secret?

    I can tell you the answer!

    If you go to Yahoo.com and search site: in front of the url you will get a list of the pages that links to this site.

    If you look at that list you will see that several links come from thechurhofgoogle dot org.

    This seems like a site that has gone viral. It has a PR of 6 and at the bottom of the pages there are links to several different "get her back" websites. The PR6 of this site is the main reason for the pr 4 of this simple wordpress site.

    I will guess that the church website was made to be a fun site, and when the buzz died, they added the links to the footers.

    It is difficult to get a page to PR 6 (the church site). You will need a good idea, and it needs to be viral. This is the reason for many of the "fun" sites online. They build fun sites, that gets a lot of links pretty effortless, and then add links for PR when the PR of their fun site has reached a certain level.

    The tactic is pretty sneeky in google's eyes.

    So, if we can spot sites early on that have a good chance of going viral and get a few links back to our site then we are onto a winner. What we need are viral spotters!!!

      I am only guessing, but I think the owner of the sites that are linked to also is the owner of the church site.

      So the idea here will be to build a site that is viral, and then later use that PR to build seo for more promoting sites. If you look at the backlinks towards the google search site, you will get a better understanding. They are not all natural.

        I'm not sure why others have not caught on.

        Only single pages have pagerank.

        A site with 20 pages does not get "pagerank" for all
        20. All 20 are done separately. Subpages may not even
        have pagerank.

        So, in effect, all pages with pagerank are, in fact, just
        one page.

        If you are talking SERPs, and why a website with only single
        page content shows up, well, according to google it has
        content, authority, and/or backlinks that are best.

        Squidoo lenses, for a great example, are one page websites.
        And each lens may or may not have pagerank.

    I covered this in "the linkbuilders bible 2010".

    I call it "PR investment". You are looking for sites of high quality, in a niche that might take off. You get a link from them, hoping that in time that link will grow more and more powerful as their site grows in stature.

    You are looking for trends in search traffic and general buzz and interest.

    You then approach newly set-up sites of quality, that look like they are building content that will be around for a long time - people taking pride in their content.

    The dirty trick option if you cant get a one way link from them, is to get a reciprocal then at some stage later when their site grows in stature you quietly delete the reciprocal.

    PR depends upon the backlinks and PR of the pages from where those backlinks are coming. As this site is getting a footer link from a high PR website, so it's PR is also high.

    Its pretty simple. I ran the site through SEO Spyglass. It has 6 links from that church of google website. Each of those pages has a PR of 5. So, it has has 6 PR5 page links coming in (albeit all from the same domain). the 1 page thing is irrelevant, as paul already discussed. A 1 page site can rank #1 in Google and a 1 page site can have a high PR.
