has anyone tried building mini sites with free hosting sites and link those sites to your main site trying to build backlinks?
Does google spider sites on free servers? Thank you.

    In my opinion that is probably a waste of your time. If you want to make something from a free service, use myspace or facebook or blogger. At least with those you will get the social networking aspect.

      I second that, you'll get a lot more love from Google using a free service like Blogger or the like.

      You should also consider building squidoo lenses and hub pages.

    If you can do this on a massive scale (will most definitely require serious programming skills) then it can be worth it. But if you're going to put up a couple of 10 page content sites then there's just no value there.
