Adwords is not working for me

Hello,

I've very recently got a sales page up (dating niche - my first one) and I got a nice coupon for adwords ($100) - I got it in the mail from Hostgator. I've put this coupon into use, created my add in adwords, used the suggested keywords for my niche (probably a bad Idea, but I don't know what I'm doing yet) and I've started the campaign. It's been almost 4 days without a single click (I have bid set auto)

I'm looking to learn about this and get some advice from you all. If you can link me to a solid page that explains things, or if you can explain it in a more simple way, please do.

Thanks very much,
pickoshe

If I were you, I would pause your campaign(s) immediately and scan the forum for tips on how to effectively use Adwords. It can be tricky and you don't want to burn up all your cash on mistakes than can be avoided with some research.

They're right. You might as well put your free money to good use - AFTER you've learned about PPC. You can very easily spend your way out of the shirt on your back if you're not careful. There's an art to it, and it can be tricky. There's a pretty good coaching program called Commission Blueprint, but I'm sure there's quite a bit of free stuff out there too. But, for god's sake, pause your campaign! :p

I agree with the others....learn, THEN use your coupon. There is pretty decent book on the subject called "Ultimate Guide To Google Adwords" just search Amazon for it. Tons of great reviews from people just like you. A starting education for like $18.00 - not bad!

To create a good PPC campaign it at least takes 3 to 4 hours and if you do it in hurry without focussing on it then it may hit back and all your adwords credit may go back in vain..

There are many variables that go into setting up a succesful PPC campaign. Here are just a few:

      1. Research Keywords
      2. Bid on Exact, Phrase, or Broad Match?
      3. Ad Text (Different Ad Variations, Use Dynamic Keyword Insertion? Custom Landing Page?)
      4. When should the ads show?
      5. Where should the ads show?
      6. Test, test and more testing.

      etc.

There are also numerous campaign settings that need to be set-up correctly in order to maximize your results.

A new PPC campaign is like a new born baby. It requires considerable effort/time at the beginning but as it matures and grows, you can just check in from time to time

I agree with the others. Do your research before you continue.
