Does this count as a backlink?

I've run a test on few sites with SEO SpyGlass, and I've discovered something I think is interesting:

The sites had on their pages link back to the main page. This wasn't links which just had a reference to index.html, no this was links having the full url (http://www.mydomain/index.html) of the main page.

I see in SEO SpyGlass that this "backlink" gets a very high backlink value, because if this is a site with high PR, then this backlink have lot of link juice as it's not sharing the link juice with anyone.

Now, does this count as a backlink or not?

    Me too, post here that links, just to see on what exactly you mean. For good SEO most of people make subdomain, like:
    www.mydomain.com and subdomain www.mydomain.com/blog

    I have no idea what your talking about, if you can click on the link and it goes to the website, then it's a backlink, if you can just see the url, but cannot click on it, it's not a backlink.

    wonder if link will be considered a internal link or a backlink?

      check out this site http://www.warriorforum.com, it has a banner in the top left of the page, this banner works as a link, wonder if that link counts as internal link or backlink

          If the link is off the site that it is not an "internal link", if its on the site it is an internal backlink. Is that what you are asking? Are you thinking because the full URL vs relative link is used it would be considered offsite?

          yes, I wonder if it counts as internal link or backlink. I thought it would be counted as a internal link, but when using SEO SpyGlass it's counted as a backlink.

            I believe that big G will just considered this as an internal link.
