Question about SEO-pack and Slick

Hi there,
I just bought and read David Eisners awesome WSO The Octopus Blog. (He made me buy and install WP Unique on my latest blog.:rolleyes
I have Ed's Slick installed to set it up as an autoblog and of course the all-in-one SEO pack. Actually this is my first attempt to use Slick, I had bought it a while ago but didn't put it to use until now.
So my confusion is this: David recommends disactivating the auto-generation of the description in the SEO pack since the description is a means to get the click. Does that imply I have to get in every day to change the description and put in keywords for every post? I was just wondering: how do you experienced slick-users with dozens of blogs go about this? I mean if the whole point is automation should't I leave the auto-generation on? And what about keywords? Should I put those in too or just upload a bunch of articles and leave the blog alone?
