Google redesigned?

Hi Everyone.

Wow! Just been doing a Google search and noticed they've redesigned?Lots of new stuff in the search results like icons, sidebars and stuff. Is anyone else seeing this on Google? I'm definitely seeing it on google UK.

I searched for news on the redesign but there's almost nothing from Google. The only thing I found from a google search was this blog post-> google redesign

Will this mean changes to how seo works???

    Yes. I see that Google has made their logo and graphics more sparkling on their search pages. I also see that they have optimized their layout a bit more and are in the process of enhancing the overall user experience. They have also introduced specific search options on the left side bar based on the types of websites / sources users would like to search on - images, videos, discussions, books, shopping, etc. As you may know, they already have integrated updates from sites like Twitter into their search.

    In a nutshell, it does seem like they are taking the steps needed to stay ahead and continue to dominate search. I am sure that these changes are based on real data that they must have garnered from billions of searches and the associated user navigation patterns.
