Backlinks question

The best primer I can think of to get traffic to your site is to follow the Thirty Day Challenge.

It does a good job covering backlinks, but adds in the more important aspect that you need to structure those links properly in order to get ranking for the keywords that you target. Remember that just getting backlinks doesn't necessarily mean you'll get traffic from them.

Also, relevancy is one thing that's important, among many things. The main point of backlinks is to rise in the search engines, not get traffic from them. For this forum, wedding tips has nothing to do with making money, so you are not really going to get traffic from a wedding tips backlink on this forum. You need to try to get links from sites that are relevant to your site, to have any prayer of getting direct traffic from backlinks. Also, Google likes relevancy, among many things, and the best backlinks are from sites that are relevant to yours, as it will hold more weight in your Search Engine Ranking Position (SERP), in Google's eyes. Although, it still helps to have non-relevant links as it looks more natural and it does hold some weight.

So, backlinks will usually not give you much direct traffic themselves, especially if the site where you link is completely irrelevant to your site. But irrelevant links still work to help you rise in the SERPs. Also, 10 backlinks? You should be talking more like 1000 to see you rise in the search engines and also to get a bit of direct traffic from someone clicking on those backlinks.

There are several methods, I see you are using Wordpress, good, there are a lot of things you can do and wordpress is a great way to do it, as far as back links, there are a ton of things, social bookmarking, link exchanges, manually trade links, find some do follow blogs, yep that really does work, claim you site on alexa, install all the "right plugins" (varies depending on what the right plugins actually are) visit the sites in my sig, there are two I think that will help you, let me know how it goes.

Try to get backlinks from relevant sites to improve your SERP rating, then that's the time you get more traffic to your site.

one of the best ways to have some qualified backlinks
is to do some link wheels.

You can also use Angela Edwards and Pauls high PR backlinks packages but I've heard mixed reviews from them.

Well you are on the right track.
If you want to rank high for the search term "beutifull wedding tips" you change your signature to:
And you put this on your account on some relevant forums. Then make 2 posts a day on each of them.
Once a week you can follow up with article marketing like the guys allready mentioned in this post.

10 backlinks is nothing!

You can try some of the suggestions above, but just about every other site is writing articles, blog commenting blah de blah de blah

The best thing for you to do would be to get involved with some wedding forums, make some contacts via there get your site in your signiture on there.

Im sure there are 100s of forums where people want advice on organising weddings etc, once you get to be an authority on there, you will be able to attract people to your site pretty easy!

ps However it will require a lot of hard work for little money at first, but it would be better than just doing lots of what everyone else is doing lol!
