SEO Spyglass Link Value?

What are your opinions about how accurate the link value calculation is from seo spyglass? I've spoken with a rep from their company who said their algo to calculate it is simply the same as the pagerank one. but I've noticed their link value is highly effected by the number of total links the page has. While this does play a factor, I dont think it does as much as external links?
