Hi

I have been doing some research recently to try and find some niche domains but so far I am only really coming up with keywords with no long tails.

Should I be expecting my software to find longtail keywords or should I really just be adding words on the end of my chosen keyword then analysing them for SEO competition etc?

For example, say I was researching Samsung Televisions (which I'm not ). When looking for long tail keywords should I get out Market Samurai and start analysing Samsung Television stands or Samsung Television insurance or should I really expect to see suggestions in my niche finding software?

Cheers
Colin

In most cases your software should give you these options.

I would assume the software would help you out there, but you could always just put yourself in the shoes of someone who's searching Samsung TVs. I have a student who searches by typing pretty much complete sentences into the search bar. If you try things like Which Samsung TVs can be mounted on a wall or Samsung TVs that come with built-in DVD players, etc., it might spark a few ideas. (My examples are probably lame, but you get the idea.)

Also if you use Market Samurai you can select the minimum number of words your keyword has to be.

And you can google suggest too

The short tail words are very hard to rank for but give great traffic and average conversions. Long tail keywords are dead easy to rank for but give low traffic and good conversions.
