Hello Fellow Warriors. I have recently created a backlink checking webpage that uses Yahoo's backilink checking functionality. I thought I would share it with you. Feel free to use it as you wish, whether it be to check backlinks to your own site or to spy on your competition for affiliate sites. It is free to use and there is no opt in or any restrictions aside from the 5,000 query/day limit that yahoo specifies. I hope you find it useful.

If you can answer one question than I believe you will make this tool much much better and helpful.

WHY WOULD PEOPLE WANT TO GO TO YOUR SITE AND CHECK BACKLINKS WHEN THEY CAN DIRECTLY TYPE AND GET THE RESULTS FROM YAHOO?

  Agree with previous comment.Try to give your users something that will improve existing service. How about multiple domain backlink checker?

  Thanks for the suggestion alexts. What exactly do you mean by multiple domain? Do you mean checking for common backlinks to multiple domains? Or do you mean checking backlinks for multiple domains at once? Thanks for your input.

  Here are some ideas:
  
  - Show what Anchor text is used on the domain that is showed as a backlink
  - Is it a no follow or a do follow
  - Pagerank of that particular backlink page
  - How many outbound links on that page
  - Show if it's a .com, .info, .edu etc...
  - etc...
  
  Just adding those functions can make your tool very powerful for backlink research. There are softwares that do that but I haven't seen any online services.

Whats going on in the backend though? Are you capturing this data and storing it or analysing it in any way?

Id feel more confident just going directly to Yahoo, personally.

On the backend I am just plugging into Yahoo's API directly. I am not storing or analyzing the data as of yet. I am working on adding the link text and whether the link is a follow/nofollow link as well as how many outgoing links the page has.

  You are welcome, please feel free to use it as often as you like. I can handle 5,000 hits per day. Right now I am only getting 500 - 1000 hits per day.
