Blog Commenting Strategy

As we all know, if you comment often on blogs, especially these "DoFollow" blog, it is a good way to increase the amount of backlinks pointing to your site's pages.
These days, I am trying my best to find the blogs that support "DoFollow" comments links, and then comment on these blogs everyday. But after several days, I just found that it seems useless to help me build backlinks.
What is your opinion? Is it becoming useless to comment on blogs? Or, Google has paid no attention to this type of links?

Even if the homepage has a PR 4+, most of the posts in the archives are PR N/A. Get SEO For Firefox free plugin, and then do a "site:blog url" on Google, and you will see which posts have page rank within the site.

I'm not sure if its still available.. but Google "comment kahuna". Its free and will help you search blogs related to keywords. It also filters them by PR and whether they're nofollow or dofollow.

Personally, (and I can't stress it enough) the best form of backlinking is guest posting. contact bloggers and get a few guest posts up.. then use a service like UAW so you have a diverse link profile.

The only thing with comment kahuna and the like is, if in an un-competetive nieche, there will not be a great deal of blogs dedicated to that stuff.
It would involve commenting on blog posts which are a few years old in some instances. Don't know if google bot will still be visting them, to get the backlink indexed.

Comment Kahuna is still available, just downloaded it upon your suggestion. What is the UAW service you speak of?

The results are not instantly will pop up there. It will take some time perhaps a week or more and in blog commenting it is better that you work with quality than quantity.

Thank you very much. Perhaps I wait some other weeks to see the good results.
By the way, could you give me some useful ways to find the "DoFollow" blogs?

I use blog commenting all the time as well as profile linking.
I personally outsource both. Just keep in mind you must rotate
your anchor text. I use the 60%,30%,10% rule. So if I buy 250
blog comments for example I would target three different keywords
        with the above distribution.

        Best Regards,
        Brian

SEO and backlink building is not about few days or few strategies, it is all about patience (stick to the plan, come what may) and diversifying (if you find a new way to get links, do it, forget about dofollow nofollow etc). The bottom line is you never know what works, something which works today may not work tomorrow, so diversifying your link building efforts can be the real winner.

Hey Dofollow Blog Commenting is one of the best method to get quality backlinks, Google always consider those links as valuable backlinks, yeah as others said, you need to wait for some time to get indexed and all. .

And if you can place your links in high PR Dofollow blogs, which will be great. .

Keep commenting, but why not write an article or two and submit through a service like Content Crooner. Faster and more effective in the long run...

It takes time to see results when commenting on do-follow blogs especially on lower PR ones due to Google not checking on them as much.

My advice is keep doing because what you do today will pay off a month or so down the line

Just remember that you have to be building backlinks on a consistent basis (perhaps 10 every day). If you maintain this consistency and just keep checking back every week or so you will soon see those backlinks flow through. Spread out your strategy as well via perhaps articles, bookmarking, profiles etc.

Yes, among all backlinks- building strategies, blog commenting is just one of the useful strategies to build backlinks. Article submission, bookmarking, etc are worth trying at the same time.

i think google has changed its algorythm and ignore backlinks now. keyword density is more applicable now and social bookmarking is the new game i think.

Even if Google has changed its algorythm absolutely, I think backlinks are still useful.
Perhaps Google are ready to pay more attention to social media sites, DoFollow links is still a vital factor when it comes to SERP.

Waiting for SEO results can be problematic for unpatient. I know I am one of them However try to make a plan, write down when do you expect results and which results do you expect. Than stick to the plan and results will come. Think about the end goal and enjoy the voyage. Also good thing is to have few projects so you can work a little bit one project than switch on the other for a while. I'm not saying to get overloaded with things to do, I've done that and it didn't go very well, but sometimes is good to step back and look at the big picture. Be patient my friend, and after few sites you do optimize you'll be checking "rankings" more often. The point is, it takes time

keep commenting to see the result.

Your comments on blogs will not be wasted. You will get back links soon as Google pay attention to the blog commenting. It is a good way to increase back links. Just check your signature and search for the most relevant blogs.

Wait, what? Google wouldn't rank soly based on keyword density, it is too easily spammable. That is why backlinks are taken into consideration to began with.

Oh, yeah and social bookmarketing is fun and all, but only "cool" stuff gets bookmarketed. If social bookmarketing becomes the new king then anyone who searches Google for actual information, like "how to cook a turkey" is going to be dissapointed when "Top 35 Funniest Star Wars Posters" shows up as #1.

Trust me, backlinks are never going away.

lol.. yeah.. they decided to abandon the very foundation that their site was built on, the very thing that made them different then the other SE's back in the 90's. They decided "hey, let's just rewind 15 years of research and fine tuning, and go back to a system where the webmaster can easily manipulate everything".

google was the brainchild of academics.. people who's sense of worth is wrapped up in 'being published', and the more often your published works are cited by other published works, the more 'important' you are. They are not about to give it all up, and go back to what yahoo offered 10+ years ago.

I created my own program to find related blogs to comment on, pingback, etc..

after it sorted through several thousand blogs related to the various keywords I used, it never found more then a few that had a combination of:
    a) comments enabled
    b) comments not 'nofollow'

for seo purposes, it's just not worth spending much time on.

Blog commenting is an asset that can’t be overlooked. While I feel it serves less of a purpose as time goes on, it is great for beginning websites or lesser known ones to get some targeted readers

I am keeping these points in minds while commenting in Blogs
      1. Post in relevant blogs
      2. Try to add some value in the post, so that the discussion can be proceed further.
      3. Avoid bull**** words like ' I like your post,' Great Blog' etc etc.
      4. Avoid keeping the site url in Comment description rather than give the url in the given box.

The blog comments is the best way to get the back link. It should be more relevant and on the topic. To create good impression always create a powerful opening line. Try to impress the author. Comment on other comments and always try to make the short and simple so that visitor can give easy and fast reply to it.
