Yahoo PPC Much Different Than Adwords?

Hi Guys, I would appreciate a little guidance here. For the last 3 months I have been fine tuning a few adwords campaigns and got them profitable. I am now ready to expand into Yahoo's PPC program but I have no idea how it works.

Does it work the same as Adwords to where you pay on a bidding system and ctr is all important? Also, I saw that you can import your adwords campaign straight into yahoo. Is that advisable?

Cheers

    Hi

As far as Yahoo goes, from experience, you will find that it is VERY similar, one noticeable difference, off the top of my head, is whereas in Adwords you are allowed and in fact should, capitalise each word, in Yahoo this is a no-no

You will find you can just about do a straight Adwrods import, with very little changes needed, apart from a few minor tweaks (capitalised words for example)

As far as traffic goes, you will find that the amount of traffic you get from Yahoo is significantly less than Google, BUT, from experience, the conversion ratio of the traffic you do get is generally quite a bit higher

    Hope that helps

Thanks for the help Steve. Do you find the cpc to be lower on Yahoo or not?

Yeah, CPC definitely lower on yahoo, but quite a bit less impressions & clickthrus, but those that do click through tend to convert better

        So, 'swings & roundabouts' really!

Also, does anybody know if my cpc will go down if my ctr is good just like with adwords? Right now my suggested cpc on Yahoo is double than it is on Adwords only because I have fine tuned Adwords over the last few months to give me the lowest cpc possible.

I hope this can be done with Yahoo as well.

            Cheers

Pretty much the same, if you have profitable campaigns in adwords then there is an excellent chance that they will be profitable in yahoo. As for the differences just familiarise yourelf with the interface.
