Question: Do I need separate IP addresses for...?

Hi,

I have a growing affiliate business and I've read here and there that I need separate IP addresses/hosts/class C blocks for my sites.

Now mind you that NONE of my sites link to each other at all. I have a VPS server that I really like but an associate says I need to have my sites 'spread out' over diff IP's.

Can anyone shed some light on this question?

Thanks in advance!

Ken

I personally don't find this necessary, but I do have a couple of different hosts. Often you can buy some IPs from your host pretty cheap, so you might want to ask them how much it would cost. A good strategy is to buy them over time as then you get better variety this way. If you are not doing anything black hat, I don't think you really need to be concerned about this though. You figure there are shared hosting environments with 1000 or more domains on a single IP with lots of successful sites.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.
