Could be a lot of reasons your not ranking well. I'm assuming your site is probably brand new... Maybe just a month or two?

Well in that case you probably just need to keep developing more content and backlinks to your website.

One important thing to keep in mind is that SEO is a gradual process. You're not going to go from 0 to 10,000 organic visitors overnight. (That's what social media is for.)

Do you mind sharing your site for others to take a look at? You'll likely get some good tips that way.

first of all, if you want more business you have to go out and get it. Create a brochure, business cards, flyers and go out to all businesses. The online part is time and patience, on-site optimization is one of the most important aspects. this is very informative What are meta tags. Making meta tags search engine friendly. study your competitors also, see what they are doing that you are not.

Social bookmarking (authority tagging) and networking (create a fan page) are good source of traffic. Participate on other techniques as well like classified ads, article submission and online group posting.

Make sure you have a comprehensive keyword list and check rankings every so often. I recommend going after the easier keywords first as well as longtail. These are the low hanging fruit. You can check competition for a keyword fairly easy with the SEO for Firefox or SEO Quake plugin with a simple intitle:keyword search.

Yes.. you need to get the right keyword else your hard work can go in vain. Other important thing is that you build quality content over that keyword. It happens a lot that even when you have the right keyword.. you do not drive healthy traffic just because your content is not good. Visitors are not finding it interesting enough to be on your site.

You can also start link building campaign for your website. The most easy and efficient way is to get back links though niche article directories. You can also use popular directories like Ezine, Goarticles and Buzzle.
