    Hi,

    do NOT make SPAM comments!
Read the blog post and add a comment that will stick.
Go after relevant blogs to your niche and make the anchor text your main keyword.
Once and a while use a different keyword related to your site or even the domain name.

    Again: Don't SPAM.
That will be a waste of time and effort

    Regards,

    Mike

Additionally, use your name as your name. If you use a keyword as your name, there is a 99+% chance that your comment will not be approved. A link with your name as the text is better than no link.

      Wrong, wrong, wrong..........

A way to get around this is put a belting relevant response, then leave your name in the field box... E.g. 'Thanks, Adam'

I get 99+% approval with this method.

Great advice, Adam! It is very important not to spam but if your comment adds a lot of value to the post and is dead on in delivery, the blog admin will have a difficult time turning it down. Thanks for the idea!

What is the subject of the blogs you normally leave comments on? Do you choose blogs that are related to your site or you choose according to your interests?

        Thank you!

Spend the time and effort to really read through the
blog posts and leave helpful comments. But of course,
if you must do this, then you should only pick those
high quality, high page rank blogs, to get the best
    results for your efforts.

Unassign yourself and learn real SEO.

Complete waste of time for someone to be assigned blog
commenting in the first place, let alone having no idea
    about that or SEO.

    Come on people.

I would only use blog commenting as a tool to help get links indexed quicker whilst getting some links in in the process.

I would not use a keyword as the name no matter what you are going to write, if you read up on things you will find that Google are getting very wise with this but have no problem with you leaving your name and as link as thats what the system is there for.

People will mock this but I personlly wouldnt leave a keyword as my name and wouldnt advise anyone to do it either, read Googles blog for more info!

Why would you advice against using a keyword phrase in blog commenting?

As I said before if you keep an eye on what Goolge are say, in particular Googles blog you will see this form of linkbuilding done incorrectly is frowned upon.

Blogs get indexed quickly, commenting on a related blog (with a name not and keyowrd) is good for getting backlinks indexed whilst getting a link in the process on a related website!

I wouldnt add a keyword to it and I wouldnt advise other to either.

I am only young and fairly new to all this but I have made really good progress within the short space of time I have been doing it.

It amazes me that people come on here to ask for advise but are not looking for it themselves?

Anything you really need to know the best way forward on can be found with a few searches on Google, dont take the first view you find, find enough of the same until you think you have found the right way forward.

If you dont think what I am saying is correct find something to tell me otherwise but from what I have learned what I am saying it right and its not even from a Guru it is from Google itself, cant get better than that!

I know it takes long time to comment on blogs and it's soo boring, however you need to make sure read the posts and understand them before leave any comment. Nice, good article or enjoyed reading your post won't cut it in fact these kind of spammy comments will ruin your chance to get approved by the blog owner. Leaving a well thought comments will benefit you in long run.

I' ve found blog commenting to be a waste of time so recommend against it. If you do do it, make your comments relevant to the blog article and add value.

Also make sure that the blog is not nofollow.

Find related dofollow blogs, Choose pages with minimum OBL. If you have some links in .edu, gov then value is much than normal links.

No, there are so many no follow blogs where posting comments can be beneficial for your site/blog also. So many no follow blogs are there having very good visits with informative and useful posts. What you need to do is to find out your niche blogs and post comments over there. If you find you can't write anything besides "excellent post" or "thanks for the post" etc. please don't post. Such type of postings generally don't get any value. Try to write something besides thanking blogger that seems useful!

  • Remember to make it look natural.. Dont only comment on a 100 dofollow blogs. Get a couple of nofollow inthere aswell.

Interesting--about half think blog commenting is a waste of time and the rest think it helps.
Seems like we sometimes miss a basic when it comes to Internet Marketing: do everything well and in moderation.

Make REAL value comments on .edu, .gov and other normal blogs.

For me, Google has indexed quite a lot of back links from blogs even from unrelated niches.

Check some of the blog roll of the blogs that you are commenting. You'll see other related blogs you may want to comment with.

Don't care what you say, blog commenting is still of value...particularly when mixed with other types of links.

Leave relevant, thoughtful, comments on relevant blogs. Period. Just no spam.

They won't all get approved, no. But that's okay.
