Ranking A Blog Category Page... Really?!

I was wondering if anyone had delved in this and thought it would work. I've heard a lot about ranking individual posts on a blog, but what about category pages? This actually makes quite a bit of sense to me seeing as that category page would have more content, would still be around your target keyword, AND would be updated when you post new content to that category... what do you think? : )

    Sure get a few links to your category pages if you want but focus on ranking the pages that make money.

    Sorry, but I don't really understand how this is new? lol. I like to index my category pages. I mean, why not? A lot of people will argue that it brings up duplicate content issues, but that is not true.

    Google usually can tell if it's just a category page though. From my experience, the engines seem to like tags more.

      search iPad in Google.

      Look down the results.

      Business Inside tag page for iPad.

      Search Travel iPhone apps.

      A blog category page for travel apps.

      So it's all about how you design the pages if you want to rank them also.
