How to get article directory pages indexed?

Hi all,

I've got an article directory with more than 2000 unique articles on a particular subject area. It's been up for about a month, but Google's only indexed about 100 of the articles.

Any ideas on how to get Google to index all the articles? I am gradually building backlinks to categories, but getting very little traffic so far.

It has been my experience that article directory sites get a somewhat slower index rate unless they are heavily trafficked and decently ranked. I have one that is a few years old that I recently updated my sitemaps on and I have about a 40% index rate for my articles.

OK, thanks for the info. I'll just slowly keep adding posts and backlinks, I guess!

We also run article directory and I have not noticed having much problem getting the pages indexed.

Every new article that we receive we will bookmark it and send it out to our email list and rss feed subscribers and other social media contacts and we also ping it. Most of the time the authors themselves bookmark they articles as well and do some link building to it so the articles get indexed quite fast.

Build several RSS feeds (might take some time, you might want to automate the task) using icerocket or similar services (you can automate it with iMacros or a commercial solution) from your article pages.
Ping them. Submit to RSS directories.
    Should speed up the process.
