    so far .EDU link is trusted by google. I think PR5 from .EDU or .COM is the same quality. Just make sure post your comment and submit link on relevant topic.

    The same exact value as a PR5 link from a .com, .net or a .org. There is no added benefit from them, IMHO, as much as those that sell them like to spin.

    I think its one of the biggest Seo "myths" that .edu is worth "more" than any other domain. And i wouldn't pay a lot since finding/getting such a link is only a matter of time, using the right tools and knowledge.

      I was made to understand that links from .edu added value, that you requested links from such sites or exchanged links with them. At times its so frustrating because I keep getting conflicting information. Messes up my plans and schedules Anyway, I don't think I will be willing to spend a lot on them.
