Good idea to optimize article based off mispelled keyword?

Would it be a bad idea to write a blog post optimized for popular misspellings of a keyword? Would it hurt your rankings?

    If user mistype the keyword than your site come in Google but in this way you will not get the original visitors.Ranking will not boost in Google by using wrong keyword in your article.

    This used to be a workable method a few years ago. Google has now caught on and almost always shows a message that you have misspelt the keyword and instead shows you results for the correct keyword first.

    Yes it affects it ranking and the number of traffic on your site, so better to check the spelling of the keyword before you do the optimization.

    It's not a good idea these days because google has the "Did you mean" function so everyone clicks that now.
