I would like to know if anyone has any suggestions or recommendations for preventing adsense click fraud. Just recently, I heard about a person whose account got banned. He had websites that had been running adsense for over 10 years, and he was banned for click fraud. Moreover, it seems the click fraud was committed by some spam robot from some shady website.

I searched online but did not come across any useful strategy or software to combat the problem. I came across few software products but all of them seem to have been discontinued or not suitable for using on blogs etc.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Alex.

It's almost impossible to secure this!

Everyone can get banned for this, and there is a lot of stories laying around.. Many of them are probaly not true, but some are, and it's true - some people have some bad luck with this!

Its high impossible to stop those click fraud. Morever, google simply banned the websites which they think they are receiving high clicks. You have to simply contact google, if you see high clicks from low visitors.

I wold suggest posting the question to Matt Cutts blog
Google is aware that some shady marketers use underhanded techniques to sabotage their competitors and if enough people complain about such methods to Google they will adapt their policies, they do not want to ban publisher accounts as they lose money too.
Kind of like same evil marketers that send competitors sites to 1000's of ffa sites to hurt there serp rank.
These type of people do not last long, they usually feel the wraith of some good hackz.

Honestly if you're not doing anything wrong then I wouldn't worry about it.

Google obviously has A LOT of security measures in place to detect this type of stuff but if you're really worried it might be worth while sending an email or calling someone from their Adsense department.

It's good to monitor your clicks regularly if you have the time that is. And if you suspect fraud clicks happening on your sites, just remove the site's url from your approved sites on your adsense admin. Then report it to Google. It may not be the best way but something done is better than none. It may help your plea with Google when you try to get them to reinstate your banned account even though it still might be difficult.

Ask him in his blog or call them. Bring your problem to their attention so they can do something about it. It will help us all.

There is some script called adsense click lock. The ads are not served after a number of clicks from the same IP address.

Look at your traffic logs and adsense information, if you see a spike in traffic from a certain ip which coincides with an increase in clicks at that point you way want to report it to google.

Click fraud that you have to worry about is clicks coming from
you or your friends. Don't do it. The "fraud" would be you padding
your income and stealing money from adwords users.

Click bombing is not a fraud. It's a malicious attack on google
ads. Too many people think google is so small and dumb that
they don't know how to handle it. They do. They do it on
a constant basis. Probably everyone here has been click
bombed and never even realized it.

Invalid clicks are not click fraud in and of themselves.

The only click fraud you have to worry about is the fraud you
commit while clicking on your ads, or your friends and family.

If you are members of forums like this one, you know how
often people do this. They even take their computer to
another connection, like wi-fi at starbucks and think they
can get away with it. Don't do it.

People click on ads from the same IP all the time. That's not
fraud. They visit your site, click an ad, don't get what they
want, come back click another. Nothing nefarious.

He had websites that had been running adsense for over 10 years, and he was banned for click fraud.
Oh and that story is bogus. Adsense has not been
around 10 years, let alone "over ten years."

      Reality bites.

normally it will happen when someone try to "kill" you adsense account.
let say you want to share with another people how can you make money online with adsense and then some of them will ask you..

"can i see your website,please??"...and bom!
if that website has your adsense, you have to careful.some of
these people try to click your ads again and again.

i am so sorry to say that because normally people who did it
is a people who knows about us,how much our daily adsense income.

for me,i just can share a screen shot about my income from adsense
but i will never share my URL to people.it` s really dangerous!

      @Pat, you say
might be worth while sending an email or calling someone from their Adsense department.
That is easier said than done. I have been trying to get in contact with Adsense for two months now because they did not pay me the correct amount and they nether answer any requests sent to them.

Do you know another way of contacting them?

My suggestion is once your site is ranking high enough, ditch the adsense and go for a few direct sponsors. They won't care how many times someone clicks or doesn't click.

And if you suspect fraud clicks happening on your sites, just remove the site's url from your approved sites on your adsense admin
I did not know that was possible but I am doing this right now. Adding only my sites to the list. Thanks!

Never ever had this problem with websites that share adsense revenue. I don't have my own made-for-adsense websites....just simply earn from revenue share sites, and have never had that problem once.
