Infolinks Detract From AdSense?

I've got a site that's doing pretty well with adsense. I'm getting 20k+ visitors a month with a decent CTR & I've been thinking about adding in Infolinks in-text ads for additional income. What I'm concerned about is whether or not that would detract from my AdSense clicks? Anyone have any experience with this?

thanks
johnny

Not experienced with InfoLinks per se....but the I have tried to monetize my pages in a number of ways....and the logic is the same....

Basically, if people exit your page, through your monetization method you make money.

Now, you need to know what your current Adsnese CTR is. And what your average CPC is. If after putting up InfoLinks, you dont see drop in Adsense CTR, then you will be making more money cause you have offered your users another way to exit your page and make you some money. If the InfoLinks drops the Adsense CTR, your loosing.

But, whats the Infolinks CPC? Is it so high as to accommodate losing a little Adsnese CTR?

But, hopefully you get the idea....its all about CTR & CPC!

But in general, I feel that allowing people more options on how to exit your page though some advertising is a good thing!

If you are targeting a small niche and using a micro niche site to monetize using adsense, then I like to think info links and affiliate links for that matter all help to distract the user attention and your adsense revenue will drop. But that's just my 2-cents. You probably have to test it out to see for yourself.

Most in-text advertising CPC is hoovering around $0.01-$0.03, which is horrible, unless you are an advertiser.

In addition there is the problem just mentioned that they might damage your adsense numbers plus they can be rather intrusive and annoying for the reader, and no decent payout in the end. Not worth in my uneducated opinion, but would like to do or see some testing done on this.
