Hi, guys

Just wanted to start a new thread to see if anyone has any idea's as to how the new google indexing google caffine will affect our business (If at all). The way it was explained to me by Jennifer Ledbetter (potpiegirl) Google Caffeine is a change in the way Google finds and releases web content into the main Google index.

It's faster... claimed to contain 50% fresher results.

Instead of being a "phased" indexing process... it is now more "real time".

So will this have an impact on you? or will it depend on what niche you are operating in? tell me what you think?

ps you can compare the two different indexing methods as google rolls out caffine thru out the world here. This tool lets you see what the differn't search results are for your chosen niche.

If you were trying to post a link to some tool, it hasn't come through.

Google caffeine has replaced a layered index with a single fast-updated index. This probably does have some ranking implications. One consequence would be that there's (presumably) no longer a "main" index and a "supplementary" index, as there used to be. However, this does not mean that the ranking algorithm itself has changed, so the differences may turn out to be pretty slight. Either way, it will be a while before there is enough public data to make generalizations. I am pretty sure that none of the major ranking factors have changed, so SEO remains the same for now.

This is a problem. Here's why:

Spammers are using ripped content and clever automated tools to post content AS SOON as it is posted in major sites.

Google seems to like this method, but Google need to find a fix for this.

I understand they want fresh content on top - it's a fair option - but when we see spammers using this to get top rankings with no effort at all... some thing's gotta change.

We'll see the fixes Google brings next weeks.

    Fernando

P.S.: Philip, PM on your way mate, appreciate your feedback on a couple questions. Thanks.

People make good money selling to the rich. But the rich got rich selling to the masses.

For SEO you need to work hard and keep patience just like before. I think caffeine would never make any such big changes.

I think we all need to get more content out there now, bottom line. Looks like Google's doing deeper crawls, as well as faster ones. I think this might play a bit to the favor of those who like to build large lists of longtail keywords for their niche and makes posts/pages about each one. Those inner pages look like they'll be picked up faster now and you could reap some nice added traffic bonuses if you're prolific and have good keyword lists. Get to writing!

While, as a marketer Google’s constant changes might drive me crazy, as a searcher, I appreciate the egalitarian nature of much of what they do.

    Hi)
i read somewhere that results in comparison old index and Caffeine depends on in what language you search, in English results r really better in some cases but for ex. in Russian....the difference is not so great.
