Daily/Weekly SEO 'to-do' list? - sense of direction?

Hi guys,

I am new here but been lurking the forum for a few months. I have learned a lot about automated software like SeNuke, Magic Submitter, and others. Problem is, I'm not ready to pull the trigger on a program like those due to financial constraints. But what really seems helpful about those programs is they already have structure; websites and places to market programed in the software, which, essentially, gives you a sense of 'direction'.

I've been reading and researching all the best ways to link build and market your site, but WOW!, is there so much conflicting stuff. And I've read all the stuff about what you should due, but nothing how to execute it.

I have a $200 budget right now due to a good month last month. I was thinking about buying a one-fee program(s) or subscribing a month to SeNuke or Magic Submitter.

I guess I just don't know where to begin. I have outsourced in the past from members at DigitalPoint and had over 150,000 backlinks... but they slowly faded away as most where to link directories. My site currently gets about 4-to-5k visits per day. My goal is to increase my traffic by this time next year. So I need to get started now... and stay consistent for 12 months.

Any advice how how you manage your SEO/Marketing tactics?

You can do the same stuff as those tools for free. They just save you time.

If you're short of cash - focus your efforts.

Look at what's working best for you with your current links and focus on getting more of those.

Depending on what they are - that will define what tool(s) might be best for you.

Many people just blindly use any tools and hope that it makes a difference.

Put the Google analytics code on your pages and track what's working.

Check out Big Mike's suit of tools and choose the ones that target what's already working for you.

I use many of Mike's tools as well as others as they're really cheap and it's good to diversify your efforts. Check out videobot and see which other ones suit your needs.

Start small and targeted. Read and learn. Test and develop. Dont jump in and throw money around until you have already done your time in SEO starter school.

I didn't outsource with one person/firm to get those backlinks. I used several different people who were running specials at the time. The backlinks come from article directories (which really didn't last long), link directories (back when they were worth the time to submit), and blog/forum comments.

I've probably invested over $500 for all services. I'd rather do it myself and focus on link building from high PR sites.

What I am currently doing now is spinning content for web 2.0 sites like wordpress.com, blogspot, wetpaint, and etc for link building. I'm not making a link wheel though.

I made a link wheel last year for one of my other websites and it took me a day to setup and post one (spun) article on. I don't think but maybe 2 of the 8 sites are indexed by Google. Again, more stuff to do just to create a link wheel. I never promoted those sites because of the time constraints.

I basically gave up on most SEO tactics except for just focusing on key word rich high-quality articles and bookmarking each article with the OnlyWire tool.

So yeah, like I said, I am trying a new tactic with just maintaining some random web 2.0 sites with spun/rewrite articles.

I am looking at a couple of tools right now called:
      -Link Dominator
-Unique Article Wizard (except something w/ one time fee instead of monthly)

Big Mike's got a lot of great looking tools also. Too much to decide. That's why my head is turning to jelly, because where is one to start?
