What is your daily routine for your website(s) SEO work, what tools are you using and what Word document/program do use to keep everything organized and structured?

Just asking because I'm wanting to get more structure in my SEO work. Why reinvent the wheel when I am sure many of you already have a structured process.

    I submit to Ezine

I usually have a mix of:

    - First thing I do every day is look at analytics for my sites, they give me focus on what I should be working on to get where I need to be
    - Researching keywords and posting more content to my sites, try to do one new keyword focused page every 2-3 days per site
    - Link building or article distribution, maybe 1-3 a day per site
    - Blog commenting (which usually happens while I look deeper into my niche and look for content inspiration)

What do I try to avoid every day?

    - Looking at analytics more than once
    - Looking at search positioning for keywords (I try to restrict this to once per week)

When I'm burned out I read forums and SEO blogs to revitalize my mind and to keep going from day to day

I should also mention that I like to keep a spreadsheet document for each project, where I have multiple sheets that I use to keep track of keyword research, target keyword lists, link building targets, and other links/info related to the campaign that I want to keep track of. I keep these on Google Docs so can get to them easily from anywhere - usually these spreadsheets get updated daily as I add more keywords that I want to target and stuff like that

I surf around looking for more places to link, maybe get a good reciprocal. I just got another one a week or so ago, one of the major sites in my niche, PR 2 but highly relevant and older domain.

One thing's for sure, if you want to make being an SEO specialist your career, then you have to prepared for a LOT of learning and a LOT of change. The search engine industry, or the Internet as a whole, is a fairly dynamic industry which evolves much faster than perhaps other industries. Not an industry where you can afford to take it easy for very long - you'd need to constantly keep tab on what's happening.
