    Yes, I have read that having no follow links are almost better than regular following links. I believe I read that from the author of SEO for Dummies

    I am afraid youtube is nofollow now like most big sites but you can still get some pretty decent traffic from YT with quality videos.

    Good news folks

    There is one place on Youtube where YOU can place a backlink that's a Do-Follow.

    It's actually on your Youtube channel where it asks for your website url in the description box.

    If you don't believe me just download SEO for Firefox and enable the "Highlight the no-follow links" and you'll see it in all it's glory

    Yes James , you need to create your youtube channel and there put your url, it's dofollow, and upload videos from this channel, with you keywords as tags , then people visit your channel. It's easy Good luck

      are you sure about this andre? the description does not parse the url and I'm not allowed to add html to the description

    You can also check it by nodofollow addons in firefox.
    After penguin we need to make our links to looked natural in google. So we have to make both dofollow and nofollow links.

    I have installed SeoQuake on chrome to figure out whether a blog/site is follow or no-follow. And about your question, Youtube links are no-follow, but that doesn't mean you should stop posting stuff on it as they can get you some good amount of traffic. I personally got a bunch of leads from Youtube lately which is pretty crazy

      having spent a while checking various you tube videos and channels it appears the only do follow links on you tube are to other you tube or google urls

    BUT!! I've seen many videos embedded on other sites where they include the description which has our link in it. Many of these links are DOFOLLOW.

    Nothing but good can come from posting relevant videos and having your web site link in the description. I've tested this over the last 5 years and it works.

    It is nofollow, just press Control + U to view source and you'll find that they're no follow.

    But yes they do help your SEO rankings IF these links are coming from relevant YouTube channels and/or videos. Just like how Wikipedia links are nofollow, it will still help your SEO if it's from relevant page. Of course, the effect is less than a dofollow link (if all other factors are kept the same) but yes it does help.

    Youtube, yahoo answers are all no follow links , but htey drive huge traffic to your site.

    Having a link from these sites really benefits for long term.
