Most SEO experts tout the same thing everyone else uses and usually with mixed results. SEO experts typically miss the real use and implementation of SEO and that is the simply providing the most laser focused, relevant information as possible. This means that you don't load your page titles with every keyword relevant to your website, you simply take the page your on and focus the page titles to reflect the product or service your page is about. The same thing applies to your Meta Tags, Keywords, H1 Headings and alt tags. You should also take your images and title them with the keyword you're optimizing on. Your page content also needs to be specific to just one keyword string. I typically use the product title for whatever I'm selling as the keyword i use for that page. It's important that if you do use the the product title that it be a title someone would use to search for your product. You wouldn't want to use the title "green rubber hose 12' model number 12918B" You would want to use the title "Rubber Hose 12 feet". This is a title someone might actually type in who is looking for your product. A lot of people focus their SEO efforts on the Home Page. This is the absolutely the worst page to focus on. If someone is looking for your rubber hose, you want to send them to your rubber hose page so they don't have to navigate through your site to find it. If you send them to your home page your bounce rate will be out the roof. Google is all about relevancy. If none of your competitors are optimizing their pages as laser focused as you and you have all your product pages set up like this, you will be well ahead of the game. There are also things you should never do like keyword barfing, using the same page titles, Meta tags, and keywords on every page of your website. You would be surprised by how many people actually do this. URL titles are also very important. If your using dynamic URL's you may want to use a Mod Rewrite to make the URL's look like Static URLs. The content of the URL is important as well. Your URL should include the keyword string you're optimizing that page for and should look like this .com/rubber_hose_12_feet. I left out the www part so I could post in the forum. Anyway hopefully you get the point. When Google index's this URL it is easy for them to pull the keywords out of it. Typically Dynamic URL's reference a catalog number and use &,? And = symbols. This will limit the number of links Google is able to index. By using static links in this format you will get more links indexed. Remember your site will get ranked quicker by having the most laser focused, content driven site with good quality content people are looking for. Hope this helps.
