best redirect for SEO for original page

hey guys!
at this point, i basically have a website which simply redirects to my affiliate link. i'd like though for my URL to be found by search engines, if this is even realistic. i was thinking title and meta-tags for this. so my questions is, what's the best/simplest redirect code which allows my title and meta tags to be indexed, and what are all the things i can do to maximize SEO given it's only a redirect page? thanks.
edit: i just realized google probably penalizes redirects. is there a way to bypass this? should i even care about SEO, versus exclusively focusing on my ability to market my site?
