HOW DO I SUBMIT MY SITE MAP TO GOOGLE

Hello forumites, can someone show me how to submit my sitemap to google using XML Sitemaps Generator. I have tried doing it but it keeps giving me the X in red signal. So a detailed step-by-step guide will be highly appreciated. Thanks
