Search Engine Submit Services, Are They Worth It?

I just launched a new pdf ebook site and want to jump start it by getting it submitted
to the search engines. I read both sides of the story about using search engine submission
services? Some say they are a complete waste of time while others speak kindly of them.

Any fellow warriors experienced good results using these services? If they are proven to not
be as they say, what is the best way to submit my new site myself. Also, what is the BEST
(not the fastest) way to get the word out about a new site?

I've used a few fellow warriors to improve my websites and they have done an awesome
job. Are there any warriors that have proven themselves in search engine submission?

Thanks in advance to your suggestions.

No. There's no need to spend money on any SEO services. Anyone who says otherwise probably has something to gain from it, directly or indirectly.

Design a good website, preferably one that validates according to the W3C, with good, original, unique, fully organic content, and submit it to Ask.com, Bing, Google, and Yahoo!. Work on getting some inbound links. Also, sign up for Bing Webmaster Center, Google Webmaster Tools, and Yahoo! Site Explorer and submit a XML sitemap. That's all you have to do to get listed.

There are only two directories that really matter, DMOZ and Yahoo! Directory.

    Hope this helps a little.

When you say "Search Engines" are you speaking about Google, Yahoo, Bing, Ask, etc.,?

Or, are you speaking about the 2nd tier META Search Engines?

To get your site indexed by a Search Engine does not require heavy skills, just as HunterSnake said. Just build some relevant links and submit it to the SEs. You will be indexed in no time. But if you want to get your site to have a boost you should continue working on it with the IBLS.

It is not even necessary to submit your website to search engines. If you want your site to get indexed within 24 hours then do some Guest Postings in highly ranked websites under your niche or if you cannot write one submit your articles to Digg or ezine article directory. Your website will automatically get indexed within a couple of weeks.

My website got indexed within 3 weeks after submitting one article to ezine and bookmarking couple of blog posts to Digg..

Try optimizing your PDF's also to get it indexed by Google.

Actually I littlebit confused that you launched a .pdf book and you submitted it to different search engines, But search engine only take the URL istead of file. Am I right? If you submitted URL then Let me know it is it first time to submit it the url to search engine ? May be no. Then why you submitting url again and again?

I think you should go for Social Bookmarking submission.

    Thanks.

most search engine submittal services use automated software to attempt to submit your site. What they don't tell you is that most engines IGNORE any kind of automated software submissions so when they attempt to add your site, it just gets rejected or ignored.

No it's a complete waste of money. The top search engines will do the best they can to find your site because it is in their best interest to do so. Just write your content and put it out there (social bookmark, syndicate, etc). The search engines will find you.

If your still struggling to get seen by the search engines I wrote up a simple method for doing so here: http://makingmoneyonline101.net/howtogetindexed/

Well, if you want to increase the traffic towards your site, then you must the social bookmarking of your site. Most of the social bookmarking sites are quickly indexed by Google and other major search engines. So, there is any hardly benefit of submitting your site to search engine.
