Two websites in same niche, unique content, same adsense

Is it a good idea or not to have two websites in same niche with unique contents on each, but same adsense account for monetizing. I will not interlink them.

The benfits I can think of is I can use same places for backlinking both of them and for some keywords may be both can take a place in serps.

The disadvantage i can think of is they would be half the size and might not get enough benefit of internal links. Also may be google will see same adsense account and only list one of them on serp?

They are not very small. each will have atleast 100 pages.

    I have 2 sites that focus on the same keyword and both on the clothing niche and both in google top 20 so dont see why this wont work for you.

    yes I use the same adsense account as I only have 1 account.

    Just checked my sites and 1 is at #3 and 1 is at #9 both different sites but both ranking well for the keyword.

    Although 1 domain has the keyword in it the other is totally different
