    On page optimization involves adding keywords, site map, creating more visible and customer oriented information on website. Adding meta keywords etc. While off page optimization involves building links and getting more visibility for any website.

    Both are vital, why would you look to split them?

    Whilst any SEO effort has to involve onpage SEO to work if the keyword is at all competitive you will need a fair amount of offpage to. So it depends on what your target is as to how important offpage SEO is.

    Personally I consider both vital.

      It seems like you think you can only do one or the other.

      on-page optiization is a one time thing (generally speaking, you shouldnt be chopping and changing your page description at all). you optimize the title, description, meta, bold your keyword, link back to the root domain with your keyword, have good and relevant content.

      your off page is the consistent everyday sometimes mundane tasks that you have to do.

      dont be fooled into thinking you do one or the other ther are as equally important.

    On-page SEO is more of a one-time fix or change to make sure your website is optimized for the search engines, while off-page SEO is long-term and daily link-building. Both are important, but it requires the off-page SEO to get your site ranked high in the search engines.

    Thanks for your inputs. I know both aspects are very important in SEO. I would say that first we have to more focus on on-page optimization. Once we have perfectly done all on-page work on the site then we should move for off-page.

    For an example Keywords research, Website Structure, HTML/Code optimization, Content Optimization...etc are very important in the first phase of SEO.
