Google Dance driving me Insane

Hi Warriors

Do you know what the score is here?

I am ranked #3 in the UK for a keyword that gets 135000 monthly searches in the UK. However on Google Analytics I am getting just 2 visits a day on that keyword.

I realised that when I searched again I was no longer #3. I seem to be #3 in some of the searches, but hitting refresh I am gone again.

I can only assume this is a difference between Google Servers, like the "Google Dance"?

Anyone had any experience of this and what was the conclusion. Did you get to rank well on all Google's Servers?

    1. How many [exact match] searches per month?

    2. Have you tried checking your ranking from a browser with its cookies cleared, and one where you're not logged into your Google account?

You could be getting sent to different datacenters.

How long has your site been optimized for those keywords you are seeing the positioning for from time to time? Also how old is the SEO implementation (age of links, anchor text, etc).

If you are fairly new to those keywords <6 months, it's not uncommon to bounce around until your site becomes 'stable'. I wouldn't worry.
