I'm curious, how many of you use PPC marketing? I know nobody wants to name amounts, so 0 = $0, and 10 = $50,000/month. Around how much do you spend? Do you find it to be effective? Does it drive a decent amount of traffic to your site, and enough to make it effective?

Any good tips or advice on making quality, targeted, effective PPC campaigns? How much does it cost to drive a good amount of traffic?

Thanks in advance!

the size of Mr G should tell you how many use PPC in general,

how much another spends makes no difference on how you would set up and operate your business.

is it effective ? refer to answer 1.

does it drive effective traffic, yes it can if you put the right driver behind the seat. each has differing levels of success.

how do those disclaimers go, because each person is different then ........

good tips, start with the basics as your fist stepping stones , grow some feathers before jumping of that high cliff and wanting to fly like an eagle.

how much does it cost ? well if you were making a profit i guess there would be no cost, and if you were making a loss it would be a bad business call to continue to make a loss.

like anything the more you can plan and eliminate or reduce risk the better, but i am sure there is no guarantee carved in stone.

A couple of years ago I was spending around $5000 per month. We sold property where the commission was around $30000 per property so you can see I would only need 1 conversion to cover the adwords bill and make a nice profit.

As far as targetting goes make sure you use negative keywords in your campaigns as per my sig. This can really help with lowering costs, increasing CTR and targetting.

Working for a PPC agency we have clients with all kinds of different spend. The lowest level being around $3000 per month and the upper is in the region of $200,000. Obviously the ROI differs from client to client, however we have some accounts that spend about $5000 per month & will generate about $60,000 in revenue per month - obviously they have there own costs to take off this but it certainly a good return. Of course - there is no rule as to how much you will make (or lose!) with adwords - it is entirely dependant on the market but the big bucks are certainly there for the taking! If your advertising campaign works at one level then you should keep investing more and more until you reach an optimum performance level based on number of sales against ROI - there is no point in not putting more money into something if you are going to increase revenue by doing so.
