  I did an experiment with domain name with hyphen in it and it did very well so now I have another experiment and I have decided to go bit over the top with keywords so I will see how it goes as the site is quite new I can not tell you the results yet.

Generally speaking the only reason why people don't like hyphens is because they can be clumsy and hard to convey over the phone, they however have no effect on your rankings and could even help you as many people will avoid them like the plague.

Here in England a hyphen is never even an issue, there are many businesses that have them in their domain names as they just seem tidier.

Domain does't affect your success of ranking in the search engines. But a good domain will you take on success or no 1 position is SERPs.
