The Perpetual Traffic Circus

So how many emails have you gotten promoting the perpetual traffic system? I'm being bombarded from all directions on this launch. I have this picture in my head of all the gurus getting together to strategize how they can all make more money off us.

I envision this inner circle - an old boys club - that exploits the worst kept secret in internet marketing: The hottest internet market niche is selling to other internet marketers.

Frankly, I'm tired of it all.

I think as an online marketer, you get to the point where enough is enough and all the launches start to look the same and offer the same traffic boosting ideas in different format. Not sure if this one falls into that category, but I'm just not interested in listening to any more product pitches.

My 2 cents, for what it's worth...

    Agreed...

People, we are "the hungry crowd" the gurus tell us to search for...keep that in mind as you read their emails and hang on to your wallet.

Bill McRea keeps bombarding me with that. I agree: enough is enough.
The freebie before the perpetual traffic system's launch was alright, though.

I agree wholeheartedly with the OP.

But it's worth noting that often times "gurus" are grouped together because they're either successful or sell courses at the same price tag as others.

...I was pretty vocal about List Control being more "beginner' oriented and Epic Traffic Systems being a total joke.

I usually give every big launch a fair shot. I'll watch their sales pitch, flip through their free stuff, and make a choice. I'd say 90% aren't worth the money... but sometimes you do find a real gem even with all the hype surrounding it.

Disclaimer: Obviously I'm a little bit biased... but I've talked to Ryan personally and people on his staff helped me out when I first got started. He truly cares about his customers, and his products.

    Cheers!

    Zach

P.S - It's really important to keep your inbox clean to avoid the "overwhelming" feeling you're getting. Happens to all of us. Just do some house cleaning and only stay on the lists of people you feel at least somewhat have your best interests at heart.

This collaboration of self-anointed gurus is failing. There are serious diminishing returns on any perception of genuine value and honesty when you bombard people with messages laced with greed and slime.

They may be able to prey on newbies, but they are all ruining their reputations with anyone who has been in the space for longer than a week. I'm unsubscribing from every single list.

This JV approach is a bubble - it will blow up soon. Just my opinion.

      Hi Zach,

Can you explain why you think Epic Traffic Systems is a joke ?

I agree with a lot of the comments here. All these launches are looking exactly the same and the build up guarantees that it's going to cost $1997...which, let's face it, is a ridiculous amount of money.

I nearly fell off my chair when shoemoney only charged $497 for his latest product, and that looked really good.

No more two thousand dollar video launches PLEEEEAAAASSSEEE...it's getting very boring and verging on the ridiculous.

I agree with Supafly about bombarding with sales copies from all sites. Since we thought they are gurus, we have subscribed to their E-mails, but, presently it is generating a feeling that the only way one can make money on Internet is from fellow Internet marketers (Read Newbies or aspirants).
Has anybody know a guru who is good in other niches as well other than Internet Marketing?

That's exactly it. Most of these guys only know how to sell IM products. Apart from Russell Brunson I don't know many others who are active in other niches.

Yes. Off the top of my head:

Andy Jenkins is in film, advertising, medieval replica weapons and armour etc etc.

Frank Kern is in dog training and others.

      There are plenty more too.

      In reply to the OP:

The internet being so large, and more people coming online each day, PLUS the coming of age of a new generation of users in every nation on earth is going on perpetually... you don't really have to ever come up with something new, you can make a living just selling to the people who have never seen it before.

Conversely, and perhaps perversely, you can keep doing big launches of new or rehashed products, and newcomers will buy those two because they have never seen them before.

It's only us 'old timers' who get jaded with the perpetual launch and JV circus.

Once you find yourself getting jaded, it's probably a sign that it's time for you to stop being a consumer of these products, and start to be a producer of something.

The basic principles never change. There is no magic bullet. No big red 'Make Money' button. No 'Secret'. Just plain old hard work. But most people don't want to be sold some hard work, funnily enough :-)

Great comments and perspectives. I'm not sure which Ryan the above posters are referring to - Ryan Diess or Ryan Moran. I have bought from Ryan Moran before and he is totally accessable and a pretty straight up guy. I have learned to trust his judgment, but even his JV product pitches are getting a bit old to me.

You are right, Paul, none of them are the magic bullet and a few are actually useful (Market Samurai, the Best Spinner, a few others). And perhaps I've become jaded...maybe it's time to join the circus

How funny. I received an autoresponder email from Eben Pagan announcing an interview with Ryan Deiss, about how he got 100.000 subscribers for the perpetual traffic formula during the launch.

Here are a few names from Ryan's top 20 affiliates who won prizes for sending the most subscribers to the perpetual traffic formula prelaunch funnel: Frank Kern, Jeff Johnson, Jeff Walker, Eben Pagan himself, Andy Jenkins, Frank Kern's cousin Trey Smith to name a few. If I had an army of super affiliates like these, I'd get 100.000 leads too. Like Frank Kern or whatever super affiliate guru is going to promote the little people's product to their list of 948938534895739 gazillion subscribers.

I read the free report and there is nothing new in it. The Cherry picker software is decent. It's useful for quick checking your competition for keywords you are going for.

That's amazing, dremora. It's borderline conspiracy, though can't say that I blame them. They've found that JV's work for them and are exploiting the opportunities. I'd probably do the same. In fact, anyone know of a good product launch tutorial?

These points couldn't be further from the truth.

The IM niche doesn't even make up 1% of the sales these industries get in online sales alone:
      • weight loss
      • penis enlargment
      • muscle building
      • real estate investing
      • dating
      • phone search
      • forex
      • seduction

      Just to name a few.

...Now you can break those industries into further industries.

For example in weight loss here are a few types of weight loss that completely dwarf the IM niche in sales.
      • ****
      • colon
      • abs products
      • wu tea

And the forex niche, online, can be broken down even farther as well.

Hell, Harlan did an interview with a guy who makes more money than every guru does in a year. In the forex niche. One guy.

...And one guy, who had ****/colon offers, has done more in profit than any IM guru has done in sales. Ever.

It's a common misconception that the only way to make money online is by selling make money products. I think the biggest reason for that is simply that most take the mentality "fake it till you make it" and thus have no idea what they're talking about in their products.

Another reason is because of the people people choose to listen to... like big forum posters who in reality don't make a dime, or gurus who only make their money with big launches.

I learned so much from this forum, but when I took a break for a few months and really got down to work and started to really "get it" when I came back I was shocked at some of the info being shared.

...Not that it's intentionally bad info, everyone (for the most part) means well. But most simply don't know what they're talking about and that's why so many people run around in circles online.

...And I just went over "affiliate" type industries. Not even touching CPS products. I'd bet that online sales for LAMPS does more in revenue than all the gurus launches put together.

LOL first this whole idea of everyone "conspiring" against you is so far out in left field... where do you get this stuff?

if you look at ryans affiliate list, many of the people are NO NAMED MARKTETERS.... i.e. ppl you've never heard of.

so that puts your 'conspiracy theory' to rest...

you're supposed to be marketers who complain when you're being marketed to....

    which makes absolutely no sense.

you're on an IM list.... meaning you're interested in making money online or learning how... and they are sending you programs to do so.

should they promote weight loss products to you on an IM list?

    i mean cmon.

stop whining and complaining like spoiled little kids and learn something from it.

I didn't buy ryan's course... but you can bet your rear end I learned A LOT from watching the whole thing.... and i'll be implementing several things in my niche businesses...

    1. cool idea... different domains for each money magnet
    2. cool idea... giving away software during the launch (nothing new but good idea - high value)
    3. video sales letter.... test this vs a 'reg' sales letter
    4. how he was motivating affiliates to mail (something we ALL could use help with)
    5. how he organized the actual course. (helps me structure my own info products)

and thats what you should be doing as a marketer.

    but heres the thing...

if everyone thought like you did, then no one would be marketing that way.... it continues because it works.... i.e. people buy stuff.

Rehashed BS is the name of the game...

I am MR X and i started online in 1995. Gimme a break.

Actually, none of these courses are worth the price. Basically,it's the same thing we come across everyday. They just put that thing in one place, make it interactive and sell. We use wonder wheel, they create the software to scrape the wonderwheel. Its only a way to sell the course.

I must admit only a few weeks ago I came across this Internet Marketers Universe and first landed on the planet called Eben Pagan! Yup, i started drinking the koolaid so to speak and dollar bills started popping up inside my head.

This was soon followed by excerpts from Jeff Walker and then Ryan Deiss etc... However, I was fortunate enough to also land on this planet right here at the Warriors Forum. I think I was saved... or at least saved $1997. The Warriors Forum has become what Amazon.com is for me when I sometimes need to read some feedback on a new camera I want to purchase or a laptop I want to review.

I have been able to glean a few threads here, follow a few blogs by members here and even spent $14 and $17 on two WSO's here and feel I've started to get a handle on this very dynamic and ever changing universe with out going broke.

That said I do not feel that the stuff in this Perpetual Traffic Formula, or a Product Launch 2.0, or whatever is not a bad thing (for most part) I see it as Internet Marketing in action....catering to the desires and wishes of it's targeted audience, offering FREE tid bits here and there for you to keep and wet your beak with, creating a call to action to BUY now! and finally hitting you up for the ubiquitous $1997 sale. I'm sure they made and are making a pile of cash. Something were all trying to do here.

Of course as long as they are offering a form of a money back guarantee and you are an adult with a noodle in your noggin holding your credit card then I see no problem with their efforts. I applaud them for their success.

    But,

What I mostly took of value from this thread was Zach Booker's ability to put this whole thing into some perspective and show me where the real money is...."special lamps that can help place hair on my head, fight acne and enlarge certain areas of sizeable question..." Now that's a product worth selling : )

No, I suggest focus on a source of income and when it's not working anymore sell the whole ideea for 97$.

There's nothing wrong with "diversify" but those niches that Zach mentioned are very competitive so you need to have some serious money and a great plan to beat the competition.
