Sending articles to directories

I was wondering if I send one article to many directories, and if the article is accepted by all these directories, wouldn't Google see it as duplicated content?

Or am I on the wrong track here?

    Yes Google would see it as duplicate content but you wouldn't penalized for it... all of your pages just wouldn't be indexed.
