Hi
Can anyone please tell me what are the criteria s we should follow to pick the best keywords for home page and sub pages? Is the criteria for picking keywords for home page and sub pages are different ?

No difference really.

You can use the domain name to your advantage if you like and have that luxury. You can either go for an exact match domain that is very easy to rank for or you can choose a broader keyword with a larger amount of searches that can become a long term goal.

The criteria to finding out how difficult the word will be is no different. I like to find a top 10 dominated by low PR (< 3) and low backlinks to the page (<20 ).

I personally would create a massive list of all the keywords you want to target before starting to structure the site. This will allow you to categorise the keywords for a great flowing user friendly site.

Link to these categories from your main page and then link out to your articles from the categories. This will help keep related content together and the amount of internal links per page to a minimum.
