Hi ,
I want to start back link analysis of my site .Can anyone suggest from where should i begin step by step so i can do deep and fruitful analysis.
Can anyone suggest free tools for Google and Yahoo back link checking.

For your competitors backlinks use backlinkwatch.com . If you are dealing with an affiliate most likely they have forums and blog commenting backlinks. You can get them to outrank.

I use Yahoo Site Explorer and Google Webmaster Tools the most, but also found Open Site Explorer handy

Yahoo site explorer is fast and very good. SEO Moz claims that your Yahoo Backlink count is a better indication of your domain strength/ranking potential than your Google PageRank from their analysis. Open site explorer form SEO Moz is okay, but it seems super slow. For example, one of my sites in the footer is 2 months old. It only has 1600 links by Yahoo. Open site explorer only shows 3 linking domains.
