Best Ways to Backlink Articles?

Hey there folks. My system as of now tends to be me submitting to ezine, article base and buzzle..

I'm trying to understand backlinking systems more. What systems have you used that you love or really work well for your articles?

      Hi Avenuegirl. I am linking them to an offer page that I'm an affiliate for. right now this is all I know how to do..

          Sorry you guys. I wasn't specific.

          what I mean is create backlinks which link to my my article directory articles to make them more powerful and rank higher. In other words, get my articles like ezine to be on the first or second page and stay there. I am only using articles as of now.

          Maybe this is not the best system.... Let me know about other thoughts and questions.. Thanks a ton in advance.

            A better way for some is to link the articles to your own website, and from there link to the offer page.

            When you don't own a site (like an article directory) you don't have a lot of control over what they decide to do in the future. IE, if for some reason that directory was removed from the web or your article was taken down you have just spent a lot of time creating backlinks to a web page that does not exist anymore.

            Also, when you funnel traffic through your own site you can do things like get an autoresponder and collect names. You can sell to buyers over and over again.

            Right now you are giving the site you are promoting all the glory.

              Use article directories as a tool, not as a goal. They're just a way to forward traffic to your own website. I'm starting to use the following scenario:

              First, I write a product review or something like that to my main webpage and then I write a second article making people want to read that review - and the second one is going to article directories.

              Your authority grows, because your content is at lot of places and you get actual traffic back to your own site.
