Google Indexing Issue

Hi all. I was wondering if anyone would know why google would slow their crawl rate. I have two wordpress blogs that have really good rankings. One site has not been crawled since the end of June and the other is now being affected by a slower crawl rate. We post fresh content on both sites almost daily. Anything I can do to speed this process up? Also, it seems our content gets picks up on other sites through our RSS feeds, but we are not getting credit for it. We were Pinging every article, but now we feel this isn't really helping us.

Finally, we post duplicate content to sites like Ezine quite frequently. Could we be getting penalized for this?

FYI, looks like we are getting crawled just not indexed?

    It's impossible to know exactly without having the full picture, but this page on Google indexation addresses all relevant issues. Basically there is one big simple answer to most crawling and indexing problems: links. Your "crawl budget" is directly proportional to you Google PageRank (so when people say PR doesn't matter, don't believe them!). There are also various smaller technical issues covered there.
