Backlinks From the Same Domain

Hi.

If there was a 20 page site and one page is receiving 50 backlinks from various domains, what would the effect, if another page received backlinks from the same 50 domains but different pages from these entities? Would the link juice diminish?

Thanks.

J

I haven't done any real testing on this but my gut feeling is that since google ranks pages and not websites that the link juice would not be diminished.

On the other hand, if I was google, I would diminish it a bit.

Be curious to hear from anyone who has tested this.

Links from multiple pages on one domain cound as 1!

So if you had 20 links on SiteA (20 different pages) and one link on SiteB, then G will treat those as 2 links. Not 21 links..

So site-wide links are not really that effective (in the eyes of Big G).
    Yahoo seems to think otherwise..

      Hey Bruce,

If i understood correctly you are saying that if we publish 1 article on EzineArticles for example, it gives the same value as 10 articles on EzineArticles? Are you sure about this? (I am sorry if i understood wrong, bad english here:p)

      Thanks

But what if you had 1 link on site A point to page 1 of site B and the another link on site A point to page 2 of site B .... would the "juice" be diminished for page 2 of site B?

I hope what I am asking above makes sense ... the incoming links would be to different pages (I think that's what the OP was asking).

I speak from experience in the sense that I had a few domains that I experimented on - I found a great site that had page rank throughout many pages - About 100 or so pages with page rank 4+ from the one website -

I got a backlink from each page - My site went to number 1 -

So what does this tell us - yes they will get counted - A member above mentioned that google does not count them but yahoo does - All I can say is that my website was actually ranked in google

        I believe they count.

The reason is that I have taken a site with JUST ezinearticle links and got it to go higher in the rankings from adding more ezinearticle links.

You can take that to mean however you want, but this is my experience.

Google also checks to see from what IPs your links are coming from.

If you have to many links from the same IP, It will have a smaller effect.

    IMNewbieBlog is spot on!!

Big G puts a lot of emphasis on the IP address of a links. So the more IPs your links are on, the higher value your links are.

If all your links come from one IP address, then the value of those links rapidly drop to ONE.

Yes, I have seen a similar thing as abs007, but the effect is short lived if you in a competitive market. It can help get a site indexed, but for long term indexing, go with lots of IP address, and try to avoid sitewide links.

    Take care

Getting 10 backlinks from the same domain is ok. If you add more than that, then it will not give any value. By the way, you can still link to your inner pages 10 times from the same domain.

personally I would recommend getting the multiple links from different pages, as I am pretty sure that they will add some value.

There should be IP diversity for your backlinks or its useless.
