Suppose I have started a website forum in SMF so Is the Off page optimization is really important? If yes, then how to do it?

    Yes it is important, as is all other forms of traffic generation. With a forum you need lots of signups and to reach a critical mass where it starts to generate its own content. You can only do that with lots of traffic and members.

    I would recommend looking for paid to post people as well to get it populated, have a look around fiverr, you can pick up people to do that for...$5.

      I believe for any website whether it is forum or blog, you first need to do on page SEO and then Off page. On page helps in indexing and once your site get crawled and indexed then you can start with off page processes for raking the site as well as keywords.
